This section, mostly dedicated to schools, tries to pursue one of his main goals, that is the training, the one that makes the VIEW Conference to be so famous. In King Kong Microplex's area will take place an extensive screenings programme: a Pixar's short-films exhibition, that retraces the big animation studio lines, from the first experiments to the most recent works, and also the Electronic Theatre's whole programme projection, the historic SIGGRAPH's showcase. This programme will be put side by side with Paul Debevec's speech, the SIGGRAPH 2007's chair and workshop, both kept by big masters, first above all Craig Foster by Pixar. The whole programme will be open to all.
Craig Foster will be the VIEWFest's special guest. He drew the graphics for the Disney-Pixar films Ratatouille, Cars, and Wall-E, but also for the short-film animation Mater and the Ghost Light, and for the last short-film Pixar Your Friend the Rat. He took care also of the The Incredibles and Cars' graphics. VIEWFest gets the special privilege to offer a workshop, untitled From Imaginary Worlds to Real Stories, kept by Craig Foster self, for boys and girls attending some Turin's schools (in the field of the project "Imagine Laboratory"). Everyone tries to understand what is the place from which the shiny McQueen's pneumatic tyres and the little mouse Remy come from. With Craig Foster we'll be able to discover and to learn about the creations conceptualization process, developing a real style and creating the final "real world" graphics into a Pixar's film animation!
Sebastian Sylwan, from Autodesk, will present the Electronic Theatre's short-films. Sebastian is the Senior Industry Manager for Film at Autodesk, in this role he helps shape the strategic direction of all Autodesk products for the Film industry.
The Photographic workshop, untitled Analogical/Digital, that the photographer from Turin Ivano Piva will keep, will close the "School Schedule". In the workshop will be realized some "verifications", following the photography evolution path, concerning the technical aspect but also his applications (especially the passage from the chemical-optical way to the digital one), observing that as the main and fundamental factor remains our vision, despite the Photographic Image elements transformation. |
