Dennis Cabella and Marcello Ercole present: Pathos
Pathos is a 17 minutes science-fiction short film produced by Illusion and completely conceived and created by Dennis Cabella, Marcello Ercole, Fabio Prati. Powerfull special effects, social drama and environmental issue are just some of many elements of this original and astute work that took up the three authors in the course of almost 3 years.
Synopsis:
In a indeterminate future, huge plains of waste cover every corner of the Planet. Global warming makes the surface uninhabitable and hostile. The Earth is dead. But Mankind gave life to its greatest invention, Pathos, a mechanical system that protects human beings, controls their 5 senses and gives them a perfect life with fee. Liberal thought is not allowed. Only pay-dreams provided by the system can be done. But one day, something would change.
About the Authors:
Dennis Cabella, 32 years old. Marcello Ercole, 33. Fabio Prati, 33. They live in Genova and since they were young they’ve followed their passion for cinema and films, creating stories of various genre. In 2003, after several years of experience in videoproduction companies, Dennis Cabella and Marcello Ercole decided to create their own world and they found Illusion, a company that produces tv commercials, documentaries and animation and soon, Illusion has become one of the main reference points for production and post-production. In 2007, expert decorator and able illustrator Fabio Prati gave life to his own new company and he works on historical frescos of the most important buildings in Genova. In conjunction with their work, during a period of time 10 years long, they’ve realized several short films and graphic projects and they’ve got prizes and mentions (Genova Film Festival -first prize “Obiettivo Liguria”, Genova Film Festival-audience prize, national competition – First Prize Agorà – best tv commercial – Prize Montecelio- best publicity campaign).
